Glycine Combat Sub Bronze Watch Review - A Budget Tudor Black Bay Bronze? (GL0390)

Glycine Combat Sub Bronze Watch Review - A Budget Tudor Black Bay Bronze? (GL0390)

Nick Lehner

I have a love/hate relationship with bronze watches. I like the idea of owning one, but I only keep watches that hold their own against the others in my collection. This is why I sold my $199 San Martin Bronze Water Ghost. At the same time, I struggle with spending thousands of dollars on a watch like a Tudor Black Bay Bronze that is going to tarnish immediately. When I came across this Glycine Combat Sub Bronze,...

Can You Swap Modules Between a Resin and Metal Casioak? - My Attempt to Make a Metal Solar Bluetooth Casioak

Nick Lehner

In my recent review of the solar and Bluetooth "Casioak," I said that it was nearly my perfect spec G-Shock, but that it lacked the high-end feel of my blue metal GM2100N-2A. I bought a blue resin solar/BT model to swap modules and create my dream Casioak. Read the article to find out what happened!

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph 10 Year Update and Restoration (2210.50.00 Watch Review)

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph 10 Year Update and Restoration (2210.50.00 Watch Review)

Nick Lehner

As hard as it is for me to believe, this year marks my tenth wedding anniversary, which means it is also the tenth anniversary of me receiving my Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph (2210.50.00). I thought that it would be interesting to revisit my watch in a 2022 context. My watch also recently received a few upgrades and improvements and a bit of laser welding that I'll discuss.

The Casioak Goes Solar and Bluetooth! Has Casio Made My Dream G-Shock? GAB2100C-9A Watch Review

The Casioak Goes Solar and Bluetooth! Has Casio Made My Dream G-Shock? GAB2100C-9A Watch Review

Nick Lehner

When I reviewed the original Casioak, I said "to make this my perfect G-Shock, it would have solar charging, and atomic clock sync" but I was worried that adding those features would make the watch thicker and heavier. Well, the latest Casioak models do have solar charging, although instead of atomic sync, they have Bluetooth connectivity. Has this made it the perfect G-shock? Read the review to find out!

Seiko SRPC95 (SBDY023) Watch review - The Orange Nemo Turtle Limited Edition

Nick Lehner

I borrowed this Seiko SRPC95 (a.k.a. Orange Turtle, a.k.a. Nemo Turtle) from a friend for some strap photos. Since I previously owned and heavily modified an SPRC44 "Golden Turtle," and sold it before I started this blog (scroll down for a photo of it), I thought that it would be fun to review another special edition Turtle.

Sinn 757 UTC Watch Review - Why Did Sinn Discontinue This?

Nick Lehner

While the Sinn 757 UTC is referred to as "The Duochronograph with captive bezel" (how German is that?) it is intended to be used by pilots. Watch collectors typically envision a WW2 flieger when thinking of a pilot watch, but the 757 UTC is filled with Sinn's tech to be useful and durable for the conditions that one might encounter in a cockpit. Unfortunately, when looking up the 757's specs for this article,...
