Also known as "razzle dazzle," this pattern originated as a form of WWI ship camouflage. Unlike other forms of camouflage, the intention of dazzle is not to conceal but to make it difficult to estimate a target's range, speed, and heading. Military-Style Nylon Pass-Through Watch Strap The Blade HQ x StrapHabit Dessert Warrior Watch strap is constructed from durable nylon in a military-style dual-pass-through design. The official Dessert Warrior pattern is printed on the nylon. You'll find the Blade HQ logo laser-engraved on the buckle, and StrapHabit on one of the keepers. All of the hardware is PVD-coated in blue or pink, inspired by the blue and pink blades on the knives. So what are these things? Recently, photos of knives with a rainbow-sprinkle pattern and colored blades have been popping up on my social media feeds. The frosting pattern printed on a utilitarian tool was such a fun juxtaposition that I wanted to know more! The idea originated at popular knife seller Blade HQ, which sold a knife called the "Desert Warrior." People loved them, but autocorrect took over, and Blade HQ started receiving inquiries for the Dessert Warrior. The brand loves to have fun and decided to run with the funny error. It turned out to be even more popular than the original knives, with the knives often selling out upon release. As far as StrapHabit's involvement, it pays to have friends, as it was a collaborative effort across several channels. Random Rob first suggested the idea, which I thought was super fun! Rather than create a sprinkle pattern strap, I wanted to collaborate with the originators. I reached out to a long-time friend of StrapHabit, Levon of the Knife Nuts Podcast. StrapHabit has teamed up with Sketchy Boyz Watch Club to bring you our latest collaboration strap! I first learned about SBWC through the olive Divecore SBWC straps. The club is a multinational group of professional end-users, primarily from the military and law enforcement, sharing their takes on all things horological. They exist to help those within those communities and those adjacent have a viable resource for experience-based reviews and a space to share their own stories and experiences. They bring together military personnel, law enforcement officers, and watch enthusiasts from all walks of life. After learning more about the group, I wanted to see if we could do more with them! Nylon Pass-Through Charity Watch Strap for Cancer Research  By now, many of you know that a few months after the inception of StrapHabit, I learned that I had testicular cancer. Although I was very lucky that it was caught early, that experience shifted the way that I look at life and what I value most. Although it was a difficult time, it taught me that sharing my story with others is a powerful tool for raising awareness and money to help others. Unfortunately, in the years since then, I've seen more and more loved ones experience their own battles with cancer. In an effort to leverage the brand's reach to support those facing their own battles, StrapHabit has partnered with friends to support several charities. I've sold a lot of straps and raised a lot of money (around $75,000 as of mid 2026), but I haven't put any of my own sweat into it. I had a few local customers in Columbus, Ohio, call me out for not participating in Pelotonia, a massive annual bike ride that raises money for cancer research. When the ride added a mountain bike portion this year, I officially ran out of excuses. Mountain biking is my favorite sport, so I felt that I had to do it. My son's mountain bike group put together a team for parents, so I even have a great group of partners to practice with. As a result, on October 3rd, I'll be riding 24 trail miles, a distance I haven't ridden in years. I've been more focused on fitness since I started doing StrapHabit full-time, so I'm sure I can do it! And of course I'll be wearing one of these straps. You knew we would be back for 2026! To date, StrapHabit has donated over $75,000 to the American Cancer Society's Men Wear Pink campaign. With the help of Brodinkee, we've sold thousands of watch straps and donated the ENTIRE proceeds! This doesn't even include the over $60k donated by Long Island Watch last year through sales of the Islander MWP. We've done rubber and sailcloth straps in tang buckle and deployant formats, so this year we wanted to do something totally different. StrapHabit's Hook and Loop Single Pass straps have been one of our hottest straps of 2026, and seemed like the perfect platform for MWP. For each strap sold, the entire $34 will be donated to MWP We started with the same quick-change pass-through design. We wanted to color-match the hook-and-loop material, so we got the brightest pink material that we could find and dyed the straps to match. A black stripe straight down the middle adds some attitude to the pink color. For those who want to support Men Wear Pink but wanted something a bit more subdued, we added a second color for 2026. We took our Smoke Gray color from the standard model, swapped out the dark gray center strap for the same hot pink, and added a color-matched gray hook-and-loop material.
