New collectors or those on a budget often set hard limits on what they can spend on a watch, and that number is often $500. Despite recent cost increases, there are still a lot of great watches that can be bought for (often significantly) less than that amount.

The Fujitsubo is Citizen's answer to the Seiko 62MAS, which I said was the best dive watch for around $1,000. I purchased a blue Fujitsubo, as well as Seiko's blue glacier SBP297 Save the Ocean, to find out which one is my new favorite.

After my review of the Land Mine, I was interested to try a more conventional (and nicer) watch from Citizen. The model that caught my eye was the Fujitsubo, a.k.a. the barnacle. I believed it could be Citizen's answer to the Seiko 62MAS diver. Read the review to find out about this affordable titanium dive watch.

As my collection grows, I'm drawn to higher end, or unique watches. From the latter category is a squared off Citizen diver. Temptation got the best of me, and I purchased the green camo version. I look forward to wearing it this summer, especially with its solar-powered convenience.
